For parents
Times Galaxy is a free times tables game for children aged 8–9: one short mission a day, about 5 minutes, until every multiplication fact up to 12 × 12 is quick and sure. It is free to play, and as an early version we want to hear what you think.
Start in one minute
- Open the game on the device your child will use: iPad, Chromebook, phone or computer.
- Type your child's first name and choose the speed goal for their grade. You can change all of this later.
- Hand the device over. Your child taps “TAKE OFF!” for the first flight (about 2 minutes), then plays one mission a day.
The grown-ups area
On the game screens, press and hold the lock at the top for about 1.5 seconds (on a keyboard: tab to the lock and hold Enter). Children rarely find it by chance. Inside you see:
- every fact in a 12 × 12 grid: learned, mastered, or not yet;
- the facts that were hard, with how often they were right and how fast;
- the settings, the save code, and “Reset this child”.
Keep the progress safe
- Progress is saved only in this browser on this device. There is no account.
- iPhone and iPad: in Safari tap Share, then “Add to Home Screen”, and open the game from that icon. Safari may delete a website's data after 7 days without a visit; a Home Screen game keeps it.
- Save code: in the grown-ups area, copy the save code now and then and keep it, for example in your notes. On a new device, paste it on the first screen under “Have a save code from another device?”.
- Clearing your browser's history or website data deletes the progress.
- After the first visit the game also works without internet.
The settings
- Speed goal: how fast an answer must be to count as “mastered”. It starts at the goal you choose (6 s for Grade 2, 4 s for Grade 3, 3 s for Grades 4–5) and adapts to your child.
- Relaxed mode: no speed goal at all; facts count as mastered when they are right on different days.
- Tables up to 10 × 10 or 12 × 12: 10 × 10 leaves out planets ×11 and ×12.
- Zib speaks / reads the questions aloud: Zib's voice, and for younger children every question read aloud.
- Questions in the daily mission: 20 is the default.

Tell us what you think
This is an early version, and your answers decide what we build next. Which device does your child use? Did they want to play again the next day? What was confusing?
Write to appsforparents@gmail.com. You can also rate the game with 1 to 5 stars in the grown-ups area; it takes a few seconds and no text.
