Times Galaxy for teachers: free times tables practice at home
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Send one link home: timesgalaxy.app. Each child plays one 5-minute times tables mission a day in the web browser, until every multiplication fact up to 12 × 12 is quick and sure. There are no logins, no class codes and no pupil data to manage, and it is free, with no ads.
Try a mission yourself first: it takes about 5 minutes.
Play freeWhat do children do?
- A first flight of about 2 minutes finds the tables a child already knows.
- Then one mission a day, about 20 questions. New facts come with a dot picture and a trick for each table.
- Mistakes come back a few questions later; old facts come back on later days (1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days).
- 12 planets, one for each times table. A planet challenge (the whole table, no timer) opens the next one.
- Every fact is asked both ways round (7 × 8 and 8 × 7), up to 10 × 10 or 12 × 12.
How do I send it home?
Copy this note into your newsletter, email or class app. Change it as you like.
Can pupils use it on school devices?
Yes, but each child needs their own device or their own browser profile. Progress is saved only in the browser on that device, so on a shared class iPad all children would share one progress. Times Galaxy works best as daily home practice. It runs on iPad, Chromebook, phones and computers, and offline after the first visit.
What about pupil data?
There is none to manage. Times Galaxy has no accounts and no cookies. The child's first name, answers and progress stay in the browser on the device. The game counts anonymous events, like “mission finished”, with TelemetryDeck: fixed event names and numbers, never a name or an answer. Details are on the privacy page.
Can I see my pupils' progress?
Not yet. There is no teacher dashboard, because there are no accounts. Parents see every fact in a 12 × 12 grid (learned, mastered, hard) in the grown-ups area of the game. You can ask parents to look at it, or to tell you which facts are still hard.
Does it fit the multiplication tables check?
Yes. It covers every fact up to 12 × 12, both ways round, and builds quick recall, which is what the Year 4 multiplication tables check in England tests. On a keyboard, children type the answer and press Enter, as in the check. For US classes, it matches the Grade 3 goal of knowing all products of two one-digit numbers from memory.

Questions
Do pupils need a login or a class code?
No. Children open timesgalaxy.app in the browser and play. There are no accounts, no logins and no class codes.
Is there a teacher dashboard?
Not yet. Progress stays on each child's device, so parents see it in the grown-ups area of the game.
Can we use Times Galaxy on shared class iPads?
Progress is saved per browser, so children on one shared device would share one progress. It works best as home practice, or with one device per child.
What pupil data does Times Galaxy collect?
No personal data. The child's name and answers stay on the device. The game counts anonymous events, like a finished mission, without names or answers.
Is Times Galaxy free for schools?
Yes. It is free to play, with no ads and no account.
